Good question. In 2011 I wrote:
There is a certain feeling we all get from time to time. It is that feeling that something is about to change and change in a big way. We don’t know what and we don’t know why but we can feel it in our bones. We are at one of those times right now. I feel it and I know you do too. The dynamics of life as we have known it are changing.
Now, so many years later, these words have proven to be accurate. Life as we knew it has changed. The changes are so many y ways that we tend to suffer a normalcy bias, not quite remembering what things were like during the boom time preceding the crash of 2008. Perhaps it does not matter because honestly? We still much move forward in our lives and do the best to live strategically.
Living strategically, by my own definition, means living a life full of abundant adventure while embracing the tenants of simplicity and sustainability. It means being healthy and reaping the benefits of bounteous friendships and caring relationships. It means living a life full of happiness and readiness, without the burden of wanting to be someone else or someplace else. It means liking yourself and moving forward with this business of life with animated spirit and optimism.
You have read these words before on my Backdoor Survival website and indeed, it sounds like lofty stuff. Still, when you get right down to it, I think we have been preparing for this moment for a very long time. Living strategically means being self-sufficient and being self-reliant. It means being prepared for life in these uncertain times and a whole lot more.
This website is about “the whole lot more” side of strategic living. It will be an eclectic mix of articles and tips on healthy living, essential oils. DIY projects, recipes, and pretty much anything else that fulfills our need to be self-reliant and self-sufficient. There will be no boundaries as together we adapt to this crazy, changing world that we live in.
This is Strategic Living, a website with lifestyle choices for the rest of us. Welcome!
