During the period when I was most dedicated to prepping, I bought a big candle, a box of kitchen matches, a 2-pack of Sterno, and a box of ammo every week at Walmart. Plus canned food. Unfortunately I gave my guns and ammo away. I became too old with too many back problems. My mind is fuzzy. Didn’t feel like a safe shooter anymore. Unable to go to the range anymore and stay in practice. Even though I am dedicated to 2A it was a relief to part company with the guns and ammo. Thanks for the topic and for reading the comments. It’s been years since I talked about prepping.

Great interview!! What I have right now is a large solar flashlight. The flashlight will charge my phone, which is also a flashlight. Plus solar radio that is also a flashlight. And several other flashlights and batteries. I don’t count the ordinary flashlights as preps. Also I have at least 30 big candles and probably about 15 boxes of kitchen matches. And about 30 cans of sterno for heating up soup and light cooking. Those give off light. Altogether I could probably last 90 days, or indefinitely with the solar flashlight. It’s heavy duty, it was expensive. And Gaye recommended many years ago.
