I desperately need help with frugal living. I have no choice, almost no money. This is my own fault. The result of divorce. The result of not facing my money issues two years ago. I asked my sister to tell me how my mother survived. Her advice opened the door to a level of frugality I can’t even wrap my brain around. Sure hoping Daisy Luther can help.

When I was laid off my wife and I looked at what we had and put a plan in place in the event I could not find another job. It was a wake up call but fortunately I was able to get another job before it became dire. We have never forgotten that time and have lived as frugally as possible knowing it could happen again.

When I was raising my children I always had duplicates on hand….Just to save a few dollars in the future. When my husband lost his job a couple of months before Christmas I became a devoted saver….and I saved Christmas that year…and a frugal household was born.

I grew up frugal too and keep expenses down by using things until they break down, lol. I don’t care for the latest/greatest things and am fine with the groceries on sale for the week. I’m fortunate to live in a mild climate so never use heat or air conditioning, just pile on or take off the clothes! I also walk to the nearby grocery stores with my backpack, saving gas. I don’t have a family so it is a bit easier for me to keep up with my frugal ways but I’m always looking for more ideas.

I followed in my parent’s footsteps of frugality and luckily married someone with the same mindset. We lived on just his income while raising our family and were able to send them to college too.
